The Wizard of Oz movie is based on the 1900 novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum, which is one my favorite childhood book.
Dorothy is a girl who lives with her aunt , uncle and her dog Toto. But because of a sudden tornado she and her house crash in Munchkinland , the land of the wizard of Oz.
Witches and some weird protagonist appeared there. Also she meets some friends.
The scarecrow who wants a brain, the Tin woods man who desires a heart, and the Cowardly lion who is in need of courage. They start a trip toward the wizard of Oz to ask for those things.
The film is generally very charming and cute because of the bright and colorful props.Also, the costume , direction and sound track (Especially Over the rainbow) made this movie look like a musical.
One of the interesting movies was that the protagonist was a girl and had all the elements the friends wanted(brain, heart,courage). It was not a common thing in those days, and scarcely there were some protagonist like that. Disney , for example, made Snow white and the seven dwarfs and stories like that about pretty princesses that are dependent on prices.
The wizard of us teach us, something beyond the appearance, about inner beauty. The protagonist all have seems to have some lack in appearance, but have a warm heart, spirit and thinking.
In the contrary, The “wizard of us” ,the one that looked so perfect and universal, was a middle age normal man , a humbug.
The main thing that the movie is talking to use is “Everything you are watching is not Everything” , Maybe an illusion or fake that the society made us believe. Watching this movie, I thought that we always should be aware of the “habit” and the condition that we are used to be. There is nothing naturally reasonable, as the proverb “what goes around comes around’ There is always a cause for the following effect.
“Why?” would be the most important question .
